Ever wonder what to do with cream of tartar?
Ingredients
| White Sugar | 1 Cup |
| Egg Whites | 4 large |
| Cream of Tartar | 1/4 tsp |
| Vanilla Extract | 1 tsp |
| Food Coloring | Optional |
| Decorating Powder | Optional |
Directions

Preheat oven to 175°.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Create a double boiler(bain-marie). We don't want to use boiling water, we want to heat the water to a simmer and then take it off the heat.

Add the sugar, egg whites, and cream of tartar. Whisk constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Put the egg mix in a clean room temperature bowl. Use a mixer to beat the eggs.

Add the vanilla and food coloring. Continue mixing until stiff peaks form.
✦I like to add red food coloring to make them pink!

Transfer the mixture to a pastry bag with a star tip. Pipe on to the parchment paper.

Bake for 1 1/2 hours.

Turn off the oven and leave in oven for 4+ hours.

If you can find it, dust the meringue smoochies with decorating powder.
